We are going to take a quick break from our marketing blog posts on Atlanta web design, web development, and web marketing. Instead, we are going to post something on what we can all do today to help our environment a bit.
- Do you print double-sided? Set your office printer to print double sided and in draft mode as default. You'll half the amount of paper you use and print 3 times as fast. You can always change the options for specific print jobs.
- Do you use reusable cups? Using your own cup, or having the workplace provide a cup, saves 22lbs of waste annually. You can also have fun and show off your personality with your cup!
- Do you plug your computer into a power strip? Plug your equipment into a power strip and turn it off at the end of the day. You'll save 20 to 40 watts for each piece of equipment.
- Do you bike, take public transportation, carpool, or telework? The average household spends $1400 on fuel annually. You can slash this cost by 20% by simply taking an alternate form of transportation one day a week. Also, public transportation produces between 50% and 95% fewer emissions per mile than private vehicles (and bikes produce 0%!).
- Do you recycle your office paper? Recycling just one aluminum can saves enough electricity to light a 100-watt bulb for 3.5 hours. That's a lot of energy! Recycling leads to fewer landfills and less energy waste.
