Since it last updated its website several years ago, Families First changed direction in its 5-year strategy and social services for their families. As a result, they required a website that better met their families and community partners’ needs as their current digital experience was confusing with unclear site navigation and important information hidden in paragraph after paragraph of irrelevant text.
They faced a number of constraints in realizing this vision, including a limited budget and shifting internal resources. They needed a partner to shepherd their vision forward; they needed SHERPA.
SHERPA Global collaborated with Families First to overhaul their current WordPress website to improve the user experience, increase findability, and remove distractions from the most important content. This UX content-first approach included the following:
Copyediting their current copy and revising it with plain language
Revamping the information architecture and site navigation
Restructuring the user interface to create customer journeys that lead to distinct calls to action
In addition, SHERPA refreshed the visual design to match brand guidelines to produce an attractive, mobile-friendly website.
SHERPA crafted a digital experience that more clearly helps families find the Families First services they need and asks them to take the next step to make it happen. For those visitors wishing to support Families First and its mission, they can more easily find a number of ways they can give their energy, financial resources, and time—again, asking them to take the next step to get involved.
After launching, SHERPA successfully provided Families First with a fresh, visually pleasing, UX content-first website that allows users to more quickly access the information they need to take action and build resilient families.
